For over 70 years, The Suburban Collection has been an enthusiastic supporter of local charitable organizations. We focus our giving efforts into four specific areas:

  • Children
  • Education
  • Basic Needs
  • Cancer

These four pillars are the foundation of our giving strategy. Our goal is to take an active part in enhancing the quality of life in our local communities through our charitable activities. Charitable giving is primarily reserved for nonprofit organizations serving individuals or families in Southeast Michigan, geographically located near The Suburban Collection's dealerships. We focus our support on programmatic and capital funding.

Funding Requests

To be considered for a charitable donation of support, begin by submitting a letter of intent. This letter should be no longer than 2 pages and must include the following:

  1. Summary statement answering who you are, how much is being requested, for what purpose the funds will be utilized, and which of our charitable pillars this falls under.
  2. Statement of Need (Why)
  3. Project Activity (What and How)
  4. Outcomes
  5. Credentials (Why is your organization best equipped to offer this program)
  6. Budget (General description; line item budget not required at this time)
  7. Contact information

In addition to the LOI, you are also required to provide your organization's most recent 990 and a list of your current Board of Directors. Please email the LOI and required documents to Angela Wilhelm. All documentation must be submitted in order for us to consider your organization for funding. If you have any questions, please contact Angela at 248-731-3366.

Your Letter of Intent will be evaluated in the order it is received and you will be notified of the outcome. If you are selected to continue the application process, a full proposal will be required. The Suburban Collection may request a meeting with applicants invited to submit a full proposal.

Support Focus Cancer | Breathing Out The Darkness

Cancer is a dark disease and can be difficult to discuss with children. The Southfield organization Kids Kicking Cancer helps by teaching children to breathe in the good and breathe out the darkness.

While cancer is still an on-going fight, it's part of our core DNA to fix problems and we're actively participating in this international fight, especially when it affects children. Kids Kicking Cancer aligns with many of our charitable pillars and it was an honor to give to their organization. Watch the video to see our The Suburban Collection and our elves deliver joy to these children.
